The 1761-L16BWA Series E product line is a series of MicroLogix controllers manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The 1761-L16BWA Series E controllers come with a preconfigured 1 KB program and data memory unit. The memory delivers an easy configuration process for the preconfigured bit, integer, timers, and counters. The 1761-L16BWA Series E controllers support peer-to-peer messaging capability, letting the users network up to 32 controllers on the DH-485 network. The Allen-Bradley controllers also feature a built-in EEPROM unit that enables the controllers to retain all the ladder logic configurations. In case of a loss of power, the data is still available in this memory. This eliminates the need for adding a backup battery or even using a separately installed memory module.
The 1761-L16BWA Series E controllers come with multiple input commons, letting the users use the controllers with sinking or sourcing input devices. For the sinking mode, the input energizes whenever a high-level voltage has been applied to the input terminals. In this mode, connect the power supply to the corresponding DC COM terminals. For the sourcing mode, the input energizes whenever a low-level voltage has been applied to the input terminal. The Allen-Bradley controllers come with a high performance that allows for fast processing at a throughput time of 1.5 milliseconds for a 500-instruction program. With multiple output commons, the 1761-L16BWA Series E controllers provide isolation in multiple protocols, including in DF1 full-duplex protocols. The RTU slave protocol supports the DF1 Half-Duplex protocol that allows for up to 254 slave nodes to communicate to the single master unit by using the controllers’ radio modems, a leased-line modem, or by using a satellite uplink.
